TEOTIHUACAN:
LA CUIDAD DE LOS DIOSES / THE CITY OF THE GODS
Uno de los lugares mas interesantes que pude visitar dentro de Mexico, es Teotihuacan, " La Cuidad de los Dioses ".
One of the most intresting places that i visited in mexico, is Teotihuacan, the " City of Gods ".
Fue una corta visita de un dia durante mi segundo año de Arquitectura, en 1994, pero pude admirar la abrumadora majestuosidad de un lugar verdaderamente magico, y que ha sido poco difundido para los visitantes extrangeros.
It was a short visit of one day, during my second year of Architecture school, but I could see the overwhelming majesty of a truly magic place, that very few foreing visitors know about.
El lugar se ordena por medio de una avenida de 4km de largo, llamada " Calzada de los muertos ", la cual tiene en un extremo a la Piramide de la luna y en su otro extremo la "Cuidadela" ( los españoles pensaban que era un lugar militar, pero era en realidad un palacio real ), las otras 2 construcciones mas importantes son: La piramide del Sol y el templo de Quetzalcoatl.
The entire place is ordened by a road of 4km long named as " Calzada de los muertos " ( the road of the dead ), who is limited in one end by the " Moon pyramid " and in the other side by the " Citadel "( the spanish thought that was a military building, but was really a palace ), there is also 2 other main buildings by the side of the road: the Sun piramyd, and the Quetzalcoatl temple.
Mas alla del enorme valor arquitectonico que tiene este lugar ( al ser el unico trazo de una civilizacion que desaparecio misteriosamente ), Teotihuacan, es un lugar donde la energia fluye, esta orientado astronomicamente con un angulo de 15° 30' al este con respecto al norte de la tierra ( esa orientacion existe tambien en lugares arqueologicos de otras culturas )
Beyond the huge architectural legacy of this place ( as being the only trace of a civilization that disapeared in a misterious way ), Teotihuacan is a place where the energy flows, is oriented astronomically whit an 15° 30' angle east respect of the north ( that orientation exist in other arqueological places of different cultures )
Muchas tradiciones prehispanicas han tenido origen o relacion con Teotihuacan, fue ahi donde los dioses se reunieron para formar el quinto sol, despues de que los 4 anteriores habian sido destruidos por los elementos de la naturaleza, el sol y la luna se formaron por 2 dioses que se arojaron al fuego, uno teniendo miedo del cual salio la luna y otro que no tuvo miedo que se convirtio en el Sol.
Many prehispanic traditions has been related to Teotihuacan, it was the place in where the gods created the fifth sun, after the previous four were destroyed by the elements, the sun and the moon were formed by the sacrifice of two gods into the fire, the one who has feared about giving his life were the moon, and the other one the sun.
